Climate Change & Agrifood: Innovation and Sustainable Entrepreneurship
Participation in the conference entitled “Climate Change and Agrifood: Adaptation, Innovation and Sustainable Entrepreneurship” which took place on Thursday, November 20, 2025. The conference was organized within the framework of the program of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT Food) and the action Empowering Women in Agrifood (EWA), which supports women in the development of innovative ideas and products in the field of agrifood, under the auspices of the University of Thessaly and the Ministry of Rural Development and Food and is part of the actions of the EU Climate Pact.
In the 2nd panel discussion: Innovation & Resilience – New models for a sustainable agri-food sector, in which the President of the Department participated, good practices and innovative solutions that enhance the sustainability and climate resilience of products were presented.
The panel discussion was moderated by Victoria Apostolopoulou, Editor-in-Chief of Ypaithros Chora and presenters were:
– Nikolaos Katsoulas, Professor, President of the Department of Crop Production and Rural Environment of the University of Thessaly
– Kostas Filippakopoulos – General Manager of IGC AE
– Eleni Pappa – Agriculturist, Head of Educational Programs Open Farm
– Ioannis Senkos – Beekeeper – Beezeus, Founder of Vomvos Ecobuzz & Apis Era Cooperative
