Technologies and Management of Greenhouses and Greenhouse Crops
The subject of this Postgraduate program is the scientific training and specialization of
scientists on the subject of technologies and management of greenhouses and greenhouses
crops.
The scope of the program is:
- The development of research in subjects of technologies and management of
greenhouses , technicians, technologies and management of greenhouses crops and
production of vegetative propagating material of floricultural and horticultural
plants. - The development of specialized scientists able to undertake positions in public and
private enterprises on the above covered scientific areas who would be capable to
support the technological development of the area , to manage the modern
equipment of greenhouses units and to contribute to competitive, high quality and
safe products production, with environmentally friendly practices..
The postgraduate program Technologies and Management of Greenhouses and Greenhouse
Crops involves three semesters of studies, including 8 postgraduate courses and completion
of an experimental thesis. The degree consists of 90 ECTS units, with 60 units obtained from
the 8 courses and 30 units from the thesis.

1st Semester
- Functional responses and adaptations of crops under protected cultivation.
- Technologies for greenhouse and screenhouse control.
- Modern techniques for the management of ornamental crops and the production of
propagating material. - Modern cultivation systems for vegetable production under cover.
2nd Semester
- Soilless cultivation systems and technologies.
- Pest management in protected cultivations.
- Marketing of greenhouse products.
3rd Semester
- Development of research plans.
